In the classic Star Wars Trilogy, R2-D2 used color wheels with fiber optics for his light effects. I also used color wheels and fiber optics on my droids lighting system.

The red/blue main light was done with a sliding door to change the colors from red to blue. I did not do this in my droid.

I used a product from

fiberopticproducts.com. They sell a dual blinker light using LED's. They make a red/blue unit and a yellow/green unit.

These are powered by one 9-volt battery for each unit.

NOTE: My front display box fibers arent done in the method described on the DOME page. The method described on the DOME page gives a more accurate look than my boxes. This was due to the lack of info I had at the time..

Here are examples of the colorwheel stickers I had available. I made them to any size needed to fit your applications. Mine are around 2.5 inches square.

After much trial and error here is what I came up with for the rear displays. This pattern has a good effect to it through the fiberoptics.
